Single tickets
Single journey
A price level Dresden fare zone single ticket entitles you to travel for up to one hour on all routes in the Dresden fare zone (or with price level 1 in another fare zone in the Upper Elbe Transport Association). During that time you can change lines as often as you like and use the Dresden ferries (but not special forms of transport 9). On longer trips through the Upper Elbe Transport Association (VVO) area, select the price level for your single journey depending on the number of fare zones you enter (for example: 2 fare zones, maximum journey time of 1.5 hours = price level 2).

4-trip ticket
Price-conscious travellers can buy four single tickets in one at a discount. The 4-trip ticket can be used for price levels 1 – 4 and is ideal if you use the trams and buses infrequently.
Example: When travelling from Pirna to Dresden, you pass through two fare zones, so you stamp two of the four sections per person.

4-trip ticket for short journeys
A 4-trip ticket for short journeys is ideal for shorter distances. Short journey tickets are valid for distances of up to 2 kilometres, irrespective of fare zones and their borders. In urban transport on trams and city bus lines, you can travel up to 4 stops from the stop at which you boarded. Short journey tickets do not entitle passengers to change lines or interrupt their journey. Posters at many stops show how far you can travel on with a short journey ticket. Short journey tickets are only sold at a normal fare and only as 4-trip tickets.

Fare tip! If you are planning to make more than two trips in one day within a fare zone, it is worth buying a one-day pass. It not only makes your journey cheaper, you can avoid any stress and spontaneously take additional trips on the day.
One-day passes
One-day pass for one person
Enjoy maximum flexibility for an entire day: with a one-day pass you can travel as often as you like on public transport (except special forms of transport10 ) from the moment you stamp the pass until 4 a.m. the following day. You can buy passes for one fare zone, several fare zones or the entire Upper Elbe Transport Association network.
The normal fare pass is valid for one adult and two school children until the 15th birthday, or as a pass for three school children until the 15th birthday.

For a lovely family outing: Up to two adults and up to four school children (until the 15th birthday) can travel together on the one-day family pass. Six school children until the 15th birthday can also travel on the pass unaccompanied by an adult. The one-day family pass is valid for all public transport (except special forms of transport10 ) from the moment it is stamped until 4 a.m. the next morning. You can buy passes for one fare zone, several fare zones or the entire Upper Elbe Transport Association network.

Small group ticket
What could be more enjoyable than travelling with friends? With a small group ticket you can travel on any public transport you like (except special forms of transport10 ) either within Dresden or throughout the entire network. Travel as you like between zones in a group of up to five people from the time you stamp the ticket until 4 a.m. the next morning.

One-day bicycle pass
For many people, cycling is synonymous with freedom – but sometimes the sky is grey or you get puffed out. When travelling within one fare zone with a bicycle, bicycle trailer or dog, passengers require a price level 1 one-day bicycle pass; a one-day bicycle pass at the “entire network” price level is required for trips within two or more fare zones.

Seven days are longer than you think with our one-week pass!
Buying a one-week pass gives you a ticket for seven calendar days including the day you stamp it. The one-week pass at the normal rate is transferable, i.e. can be shared by multiple people for use at different times. Price level A1 passes are required for the Dresden fare zone. There is a special leisure option for one-week pass holders: If this season ticket is valid in the fare zone(s) where the hillside railways in Dresden (funicular, cable railway), the Meissen sightseeing tour, the Lößnitzgrundbahn and Weißeritztalbahn narrow-gauge railway, the Kirnitzschtalbahn Railway and the passenger lift in Bad Schandau operate, you may also use those special tourist services.

The one-week pass is valid on 7 consecutive days, including the day you stamp the pass.
Example: If you stamp the pass on a Tuesday at 10.05 a.m., the one-week pass is valid until the following Monday at midnight.
One-month passes
One-month pass
With a one-month pass in your wallet you can travel freely on local public transport for a whole month. The one-month pass entitles you to travel as often as you like by public transport within the period and area in which it is valid until the end of the same calendar day, one month after it is stamped. There is a special leisure option for one-month pass holders: If this season ticket is valid in the fare zone(s) where the hillside railways in Dresden (funicular, cable railway), the Meissen sightseeing tour, the Lößnitzgrundbahn and Weißeritztalbahn narrow-gauge railway, the Kirnitzschtalbahn Railway and the passenger lift in Bad Schandau operate, you may also use those special tourist services.

Alternatively, you can use the one-month bicycle pass to transport a bicycle trailer or a dog. The conveyance regulations of the transport provider apply to bicycles transported on trains.

Subscriber's monthly 9 a.m. pass

BildungsTicket (Schoolchildren’s pass)
In the Verkehrsverbund Oberelbe (VVO) network, the BildungsTicket pass is available specially for children at schools of general education and vocational schools (not in the dual education system) and people volunteering in the VVO area on the FSJ, FÖJ, FdaG and BFD schemes. The pass is valid at any time on trams, buses, ferries, S-Bahn trains and regional trains throughout the VVO network (including the funicular railway, the suspension railway, the Lößnitzgrundbahn and Weißeritztalbahn railways, the Kirnitzschtalbahn tramway, the Meissen sightseeing tour and the lift in Bad Schandau) and includes one bicycle or one dog.
The BildungsTicket is non-transferable and only valid with our customer card. When children turn 15, their school, their educational institution or the institution where they are volunteering must fill out a form (Bescheinigung der Ermäßigungsberechtigung) showing they are still entitled to the concession. Subscribe to the pass for just €15 a month.

Deutschlandticket and supplementary “Plus Company” and “Plus MOBI” passes
Deutschlandticket
From 1 May 2023, you will be able to use the Deutschlandticket, which costs €58 a month. This will be available as a monthly subscription and will be valid throughout Germany for all 2nd-class trips on local public transport.
- That includes trams, regional and municipal buses/coaches, IRE, RE, RB and rapid-transit S-Bahn trains, most ferries and underground railways.
- It does not include, among others, ICE, IC or EC trains, Flixtrain, Flixbus or some special services such as Dresden’s hillside railways or the lift in Bad Schandau.
The Deutschlandticket does not include any additional people, dogs or bicycles or discounts on MOBIbike and MOBIcar. If you would like to keep those attractive extras in future, we recommend our new supplementary passes*:
Deutschlandticket Plus Mitnahme*
The supplementary “Plus Mitnahme” (Plus Company) pass costs €10.70 a month extra and includes free rides on the entire Verkehrsverbund Oberelbe (VVO) network for
- one dog or one bicycle at any time and
- one accompanying adult and up to four accompanying schoolchildren aged below 15 from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. Monday to Friday and all day on weekends and public holidays.
Deutschlandticket Plus MOBI*
For €7 a month extra, this supplementary pass gives you the following MOBI advantages:
- You can use MOBIbikes free of charge for the first 30 minutes, and you get a full 50 per cent off the standard charge from the 31st minute.
- When using MOBIcar you do not have to pay the returnable deposit, up-front fee or monthly service fee.

BergbahnCard (hillside railway card)
To residents a BergbahnCard is offered for an annual fee of 5.00 euros. It is valid for one year from the date of issue, is non-transferable and entitles the holder to purchase discount hillside railway tickets.
Fare tip
Weekly and (subscriber‘s) monthly passes for Dresden (except Deutschlandticket) are also valid for the hillside railways. On weekdays from 6 p.m., and all-day on weekends and public holidays, holders of a (subscriber‘s) onemonth pass at the normal rate (except Deutschlandticket) can take another adult with them at the discounted hillside railway fare.
Valid one-day passes (normal price), one-day family passes and small group tickets must be shown at the hillside railway station in order to receive the discounted fare. Children under school age can travel free of charge.

Bicycles, dogs, items such as sports equipment, prams & co.
Per person, the following can be transported free of charge: carry-on luggage, a pram with child, a wheelchair, a walking frame, a pair of skis, a snowboard, a toboggan or a small animal (except dogs) in a suitable container. Bicycles and dogs can be transported in our vehicles if there is sufficient capacity. Depending on the ticket you use, the conveyance regulations for animals and objects vary.
Unless transported in a suitable container, dogs must be kept on a short leash and must wear a muzzle. Wheelchair users and prams have priority over bicycles. If space is tight, we would ask you to be considerate and take the next bus or tram.
Passengers with single tickets, one-day passes and one-week passes
When travelling within one fare zone with a bicycle, bicycle trailer or dog, passengers require a price level 1 one-day bicycle pass; a pass at the “entire network” price level is required for trips within two or more fare zones.
Passengers with monthly and yearly passes
Within the area for which your pass is valid, these pass can be used to transport a bicycle or a dog free of charge.

Travel free of charge
Children
Children under school age accompanied by an adult and kindergarten groups can travel free of charge on commuter trains, suburban trains, trams buses and almost every ferry in the Upper Elbe Transport Association. Adults accompanying kindergarten groups do not receive discounts.
Disabled People
Disabled people shall only be transported free of charge if they have a valid disability ID and the supplement from the pension office with a valid stamp (provisions of the Ninth Book of the Social Code [SGB IX]). Free carriage of accompanying persons is also governed by the provisions of the Ninth Book of the Social Code. The accompanying person must also be noted on the valid disability ID.
Disabled people with a valid disability ID and the supplement with a valid stamp can use public transport free of charge in all German transportation networks. Carriage in 2nd class in all local trains in Germany is also free of charge. The 50 km arrangement was rescinded on 1 September 2011.
State and federal police and Saxon police support volunteers
Uniformed police officers of the Free State of Saxony and the federal police force, as well as Czech police offers on joint patrol with members of federal police force, as well as uniformed Saxon police support volunteers are entitled to travel free of charge in the vehicles of scheduled services in the transport network. This offer is only valid for 2nd class in commuter Trains.
SchülergruppenTicket (School Group Ticket)
Whether class trips, hikes or excursions, your class can travel from € 1.20 per person and day with the SchülergruppenTicket.
The SchülergruppenTicket is valid as follows:
- only in scheduled Services
- for all groups of children and school children until the end of the 12th or 13th year
- for at least 15 people, including two accompanying persons or at least 25 persons including three accompanying persons
- not as part of the group discounts for Dresden’s hillside railway, Meissen sightseeing tours or the lift in Bad Schandau
